Agreed, best usenet provider, in my opinion. Was refered to astraweb by a friend and very pleased with the referal. 20 simultaneous connections make downloading go much quicker then one would realize. Two thumbs up for Astraweb.

Top notch, always max out my connection (50mbit), no issues with the service, it has been working out great, super great retention. I can definitely recommend them. Great stuff basically! 10/10.

I switched about a year from Newshosting and previously from Giganews before that. The retention is constantly being upped to stay competitive and I consistently use their servers for testing my own bandwidth. (20Mb connection). Couldn't give enough praise as their $11 a month for unlimited cannot be beat.

The 11 dollar deal is one the best I've seen. Astraweb owns their own servers and don't outsource meaning they have total control over their retention as a result they are increasing it everyday. It's thanks to Astraweb that has spawned the era of cheap quality news servers. 5/5

I have had Astraweb for over a year at $11/mo. Now just signed up for their special $96/yr. Great retention. Full speed. SSL. Hardly any downtime that I am aware of. 5/5

Don't bother with any other service. Astra is the best in all areas. Customer support is great and speedy if you ever have an issue which in 2 years was once for myself.

Best provider I have come across. I started with Giganews, but a friend told me about Astra, I ended up switching only a month after Giga. Never had ANY down time. Maxes out my connection ALWAYS, and that is only with 7 of the 20 connections I have. Unlimited, 20 connections, 11 bucks a month, 365 retention(or VERY close). Cannot be beat by ANY other service.

After reading all the comments here and with the price dropping to $11 unlimited and bill on monthly basis, I decided to come back to Astraweb. After trying for a week, I am now leaving once again and going back to newshosting. Retention is good. No outage for almost a week I've used. However, the big problem has always been download speed. I maxed out the connections at 20 and still getting 6-7 Mbps. newshosting would take full advantage of my download speed at 10Mbps with 3-4 connections. Sorry Astraweb.
